Copper Foil - Regular
1.0 Mil
Venture Copper Foil in the regular
1.0 mil thickness is the most commonly used thickness for stained
glass, glass and crafts projects. The copper foil has a
sticky backing to adhere to whatever surface you are working
with. The sticky back is protected by a light-weight paper
that is easily removed.
The thin 1.0 mil thick copper
foil tape is easy to apply since it can be wrapped around intricate
shapes. The foil has the copper metal showing on both the
front and back sides of the copper foil tape. The coper
tape is made of "real' copper and it is solderable. |

Copper Foil - Regular
1.5 Mil
Venture Copper Foil in the heavy-duty
1.5 mil thickness is used on projects where a heavier weight
foil is desired. Some crafters prefer the heavier weight
foil since it will not tear easily when applied to sharp edges
or while burnishing.
The copper foil tape has a sticky
backing to adhere to whatever surface you are working with.
The sticky back is protected by a light-weight paper that is
easily removed. The copper foil tape has the copper metal
showing on both the front and back sides of the copper tape,
and is made of "real' copper and it is solderable. |

Silver Backed Copper Foil
Silver backed copper foil is
copper on the front side, but has a silver colored backside.
It is used on projects which have clear type glass and the front
of the copper foil will be soldered. If regular copper
foil tape is used for this type of project, the copper back of
the foil will show through the glass and create a copper "halo"
next to the front silver color.
The copper tape has a sticky
backing to adhere to whatever surface you are working with.
The sticky back is protected by a light-weight paper that is
easily removed. The silver backed copper foil is made of
"real' copper and it is solderable. |

Black Backed Copper Foil
Black backed Copper Foil is normally
used on projects which have clear type glass and the crafter
intends to use a black patina on the front of the coppler foil.
If regular copper foil tape were used for this type of project,
the copper back of the foil will show through the glass and create
a copper "halo" next to the front black color.
The copper tape has a sticky
backing to adhere to whatever surface you are working with.
The sticky back is protected by a light-weight paper that is
easily removed. The black backed copper tape is made of
"real' copper and it is solderable. |
